I Know, I know

that I haven't posted in a LOOOOOONG time! Just been busy with life, hubby, training 3 young men and oh then there's me! Now that all the kids are out for summer, no more homework deadlines( fist pump) maybe I can blog more!
So my fave bloggy was talking about haircoloring and such. I wish too have it done more often, but its
just too much moolah and the kids would have to beg for food to eat. So I get it colored once a year for
special occasions. I have naturally honey blonde color and I love it.  But I do like the summer look as well.
Since we were going to a wedding, I thought " why look like I have been living in state where it's been raining for 3, 650 days in a row, I need some color!"  This pic was taken right when I got home. My hair dresser cut about 4inches off and loves to make me look like Cheryl T.  I came home and straighten it.

Our family went to Nampa , ID for my cousins wedding. Their wedding took place out doors at the Sawtooth Winery! Very beautiful and their wine was delish!

Oh my gosh, goodness!! the food was so good! My cousin wanted home cooked meal type foods.
I was in shock that they served steak!! Aack! Big meat lover here, everything was goood!
The cake was white with raspberry filling. Plus they had 4 other cakes to choose from. Butter Pecan (my fave) Carrot, Chocolate, and Lemon.  Her cousin ( on her moms side) made all the cakes.

Cute lil gazebo with ivy growing all around it. Plus it was the dance floor later!

So here is my cousin with her family, my uncle, aunt, sister and her new hubby!!

Wanna know why else it was special that day??
It was my parents 40th wedding anniversary as well, aren't they cute!!

We all had a alot of fun, our family, my parents , sis and lil niece came!

Have you ever celebrated your anniversary on someones wedding day?
Or, vice versa??

Shout Out, New Foods, and the failed Bread

Hey everyone! well I really don't know who reads this, but whomever hope your day is blessed!
So guess what is coming up??? The Boston Marathon and one of my favorite bloggers is running in it!
So since I won't be on the side lines shouting " GO SKINNY RUNNER"  I made her a sign instead to let her know I am rooting for her!!
Whoohoo! I know she will do awesome!!
So remember that bread I was supposed to make? UG! I was a day late of baking due to volunteering at school and other such things. My friend who gave it to me, said it was ok to bake a day late, double ug!
Now I wish I kept it. Hopefully I will get another chance.

Whenever I ask the kids that wonderful line" What should I make for dinner?" one of my kiddos says " Haystacks!!"  Sounds easy, I will do it!  I had my 1st Haystack about 14yrs ago, but with I think the original ingrediants, rice, peppers, pineapple, Chinese Noodles, shredded cheese, and this chicken gravy. It's really good! Due to allergies and picky eaters, why not make our haystacks? So we have Taco Haystacks.

First you start with rice of your choice, then the next ingrediants are up to your taste!

and Walaaa! We could have used guac or other mexican goodnes, but I just used what we had.

I tried 2 new coffee items, Almond Joy creamer and Caramel coffee by Starbucks. They were both pretty good. Not really a all time get out fan of Sbux, but it was pretty good. The creamer is the BOMB!

All right it's that time again where my taxi is getting warmed up for the next pick up!

Over the Freeways and thru Seattle...

So how is everyone? Hopefully great! How was your weekend? This is what mine looked like:

Alot of this going on

Took a trip to Seattle with my date!

Shopped at my favorite thrift strore!

and did more of this to Bellevue Square
After roaming around the mall, in which my date had never been
there before, we ate at the Greek Kitchen, YUM!
We both ordered the lamb and beef gyros, Delish!
We finished off our din and went back to pick one of offsprings!
Went to church, btw, AWESOME WORD! Then off to Seattle again
for a birthday party and dinner at my inlaws house! We always have
blast when we get together!  Came home, really late and played
on their day off from school.

Before we ended the nite, one of kiddos suggested we make Snickerdoodle Scones, as long as he helped!

So here's the recipe, I modify it, due to my son's non-dairy diet

I hid the N. facts, it's a dessert, and not healthy in the "good fat" arena!
So here is what did not happen this past weekend:

not alot of tv
and not alot of running, sad face!

Hope you all have an awesome day today, Be Blessed and Be a Blessing!

What's Up?

How was everyones week? Ours was really busy, with kids school activities, neverending errands and oh yes we feed them too! There are just some weeks when I don't feel like cooking!!!  But, I'm a June Cleaver in todays world,  I love to feed my tribe!

Every Friday nite we have pizza from Papa Murpheys, movie, with homemade popcorn! Salt, salt and more salt! It has been our family nite since our 1st was born!

Which leads me into Saturday, as I roll out of my bed and try to run of the excess bloat, blech!
Running seems to wring me out some, but then I add strength training for that added wringing!
and presto, I look like her! I wish!!!!! That picture is inserted in my workout notebook for inspiration, not really to look like her. She is pretty amazing and so is her story. Well, I'm off to run and go about my day, everyone Be Blessed and Be a Blessing to others!

Sweet and Spicy Pretzels

I wanted to try this recipe I found on Recipezaar. You know how the ingrediants just melt in your mouth without ever touching your tastebuds? So I tried it and well, they turned ok. They are much more tasty the next day. Why is that? Some things need time to marinate or infuse together to bring it all together, to taste really good! Like for example, next days potato salad...YUMMO!
So here is the recipe:

Here is the next day look:

So maybe you would like this for your Superbowl party or
a snack for the opening ceremony of the Olympics. I think they
are ok, but maybe someone out there could spruce it up a bit.
